1. Introduction: Welcome to Bolt Bins. These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern the agreement between Bolt Bins (“The Company”) and you (“The Customer”) regarding the rental and use of Bolt Bins and associated services (“The Service”). By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these T&Cs. 



  1. Definitions: 

  • Company: Refers to Bolt Bins, the service provider.

  • Customer: Refers to the individual or entity renting a Bolt Bin.

  • Service: Includes the rental, delivery, collection and disposal of Bolt Bins.

  • Rental: The time when the customer is using the Bolt Bin of which there is no limit. 

  • Bolt Bins: Woven polypropylene bins made with a substantial percentage of recycled materials, designed for the efficient collection and disposal of waste.

  • Delivery: The process of transporting a Bolt Bin from the service provider to the customer’s location. 

  • Pickup: The process of retrieving the Bolt Bin from the customers location once it is full or ready to be collected.

  • Disposal: The environmentally responsible removal and processing of waste or materials collected in the Bolt Bin.

  • Waste: Refers to the materials, debris, or unwanted items placed in the Bolt Bin for disposal. 



  1. Services Provided: Bolt Bins offers portable skip bin rental services for the collection and disposal of non-hazardous waste. These services include:

  • Delivery of Bolt Bins to the location specified by the customer. Bolt Bins provides service in Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Porirua, Kapiti Coast(as far north as Waikanae) and Wainuiamata. Bolt Bins do not provide service past the Remutaka hill. 

  • Bolt Bins offers a range of skip bin sizes (1, 2, and 3 cubic metre) options, to suit customers waste disposal needs. Prices vary depending on the bin size.

  • We guarantee same day delivery if orders are placed before 2pm. 

  • Customers may use their Bolt Bin for as long as they wish.

  • We guarantee same day pickup if orders are placed before 2pm. 

  • Collection and appropriate disposal of waste contained in the Bolt Bins. 



  1. Customer Responsibilities: To ensure efficient service, the Customer agrees to:

  • Place the skip bin on a safe, accessible surface. While the surface doesn't need to be completely level, a level area is recommended for the best stability and ease of use. 

  • Avoid overfilling the Bolt Bin by adhering to the specified weight limits. If the weight limit is exceeded and we are unable to complete the pickup, no refund will be provided.

  • 1 Cubic Metre Bin: Maximum weight of 200 kg

  • 2 Cubic Metre Bin: Maximum weight of 400 kg

  • 3 Cubic Metre Bin: Maximum weight of 600 kg

  • Customers may only fill the Bolt Bin up to 100mm above its rim.

  • We do not accept anything toxic or hazardous. 

  • Hazardous waste 

  • Asbestos 

  • Gas bottles

  • Car or lithium batteries 

  • Chemicals 

  • Paint 

  • Tyres 

  • Fluorescent tubes 

  • Fridges or freezers (unless degassed)

  • Firearms or ammunition 

  • Soil contaminated with hazardous substances

  • Acquire any permits required for placing skip bins on public property. 

  • Ensure the bin is easily accessible for pickup by avoiding any obstructions, such as parked vehicles or other items, that could block access. If we can’t access the Bolt Bin, no refund will be provided.

  • Do not place your Bolt Bin more than 3 metres from the kerb or driveway. 

  • Ensure that nothing over 1m is positioned between the bin and the road access e.g. fence, gate, 

  • Driveways must be at least 2.5 metres wide and have 3 metres of height clearance. 

  • When placing a Bolt Bin near or underneath powerlines/overhanging trees, please ensure that there is at least 4 metres of height clearance between the ground and the lowest hanging wire/branch. 

  • Allow enough space around the bin for the truck to safely maneuver when collecting it. 


  1. Pricing and Payment: 

  • Prices are determined by the size of the bin. Full details are available on our website or upon request. 

  • Payment is required upfront unless otherwise agreed upon. 



  1. Delivery and pickup: 

  • Bolt Bins will be delivered or picked up within 3 hours of the order being placed. This only applies for orders placed before 2pm. 

  • Customers must ensure unrestricted access for delivery and pickup. Failed attempts due to blocked access may result in order cancellation, no refund will be provided. 



  1. Liability and Indemnity 

  • Customer indemnification: The Customer agrees to Indemnify the Company against any claims arising from improper use of the Bolt Bin.

  • Surface damage: The Company is not liable for damage to driveways, lawns, or other surfaces caused during delivery or pickup unless due to proven negligence. 

  • Delivery delays: While the Company commits to providing delivery within a 3-hour timeframe, it shall not be held liable for delays caused by circumstance beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather conditions

  • Road closures or traffic incidents

  • Mechanical failure or breakdowns

  • Other extraneous variables 

  • Third-Party Claims: The Company shall not be held liable for any injury, damage or loss caused to third parties as a result of the Customer’s actions or misuse of the Bolt Bin. 

  1. Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA): 

  • Under the CGA, consumers are entitled to certain guarantees regarding the goods and services we provide. If any service provided by Bolt Bins is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the CGA, which may include a repair, replacement, or refund. These rights cannot be waived or limited by any of the Terms and Conditions.



  1. Cancellations and Refunds 

  • Delivery Cancellations: Refunds for cancellations of deliveries will be issued at the Company’s discretion. 

  • Pickup Cancellations: Refunds for cancellations of pickups will be issued at the Company’s discretion. 

  • Refunds: Refunds will be issued at the Company's discretion.

  • Disputes: If the Customer disputes any charges or requests a refund for other reasons, they should contact the Company within 14 days of the delivery or collection date. 



  1. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes will first be addressed through direct communication between the Customer and the Company. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to mediation or the appropriate legal authority under New Zealand law. 


  1. Changes to Terms

  • The Company reserves the right to modify these T&Cs at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated via our website https://boltbins.co.nz. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of updated terms. 


  1. Governing Law 

  • These T&Cs are governed under New Zealand law. Any disputes will be resolved under the courts of New Zealand, specifically the District court or High court, depending on the nature of the dispute.

By using Bolt Bin’s services, the Customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions and accepts full responsibility for compliance.
